Offbeat is an initiative created to immerse the general public back into music making, squashing any stigmas or limitations that may prevent them from doing so.
Through various workshops, participants made and played their own junk musical instruments in order to prove you don’t need to be competent to enjoy making noise. These performances were recorded and compiled into a cassette, culminating in an EP made by the general public, for the general public.
Supplimenting this is a series of poster zines which highlight outsider musicians and their unconventional routes into the music industry, further showcasing that all you need to make music is a microphone and a passion to do so.
